October 18, 2017

For the ultimate Japanese food-lovers like me, i am always enjoy exploring Japanese food especially sashimi in town.
Recently, i'm craving sashimi so much and been searching new Japanese restaurant almost every weekends, because i can't find nice sashimi even though i visited high-end Japanese cuisine.
Where to find the greatest Japanese food with affordable price?
Finally, i found one at Old Klang Road!
Come~ I've got you covered with this guide to the good Japanese food Kimi-ya has to offer.
Kimi-ya located at Old Klang Road, Avantas Residences Kuala Lumpur. It is a mid-range price Japanese restaurant which offers authentic Japanese cuisine at affordable price, without compromising on the quality.
Chef Khim is the maestro behind KIMI-YA’s kitchen who is very down-to-earth, loves to sit together with us and share what his culinary thoughts.

There're two private rooms available for bookings.
Kimi-Ya menu offer a huge varieties, starting from appetizers, salad, sushi, sashimi, agemono, teishoku, udon, soba, Japanese curry, nimono, yakimono to dessert.
Ume Sashimi Moriawase (7 Types)
Included Salmon, White Tuna, Yellowtail, Tuna Belly, Scallop, Octopus and Pink Shrimp
All of these air-flown fishes were freshly prepared and decorated nicely on bed of ice. Seriously, i am a connoisseur of sashimi so i have my expectation in this LOL!
This bowl of food from the sea is surely my favourite, thickly sliced and very fresh especially the tuna belly as that fish is placed below and frozen to a core temperature of minus 60 degrees. What a great variety of delicacies and every mouthful was a delight!
Oh my lovely Amaebi is clear without too much pink, so delicious!
I don't like to dip the the sashimi in soy sauce. To me, sashimi is a direct taste experience, so i don't want use sauces to distractions to my taste buds.
Salmon Kabuto Miso
A hearty and flavoursome soup that's sure to fill you up! Salmon head and assorted vegetables providing loads of nutritional value to this soybean paste based soup.

Zaru Inaniwa Udon
This is my another favorite. Unlike to other common Zaru Udon, Kimi-ya's udon version is more springy whilst you can enjoy original taste of wheat noodles. Before eat it, mix the wasabi, spring onion and quail egg into homemade dipping sauce, then dip in with the cold thin wheat noodles and enjoy it.

Yaki Pirikara Edamame
Boiled and Baked Green Soybean with Chili Powder.
Kaisen Paitan Ramen
Chicken white soup ramen served with assorted seafood.

Taraba Gani
Do you know Taraba Gani is a winter delicacy prized by Japanese and worldwide crab lovers for its? The natural sweetness and aroma of the preserved meat fuses into all of its legs, juicy and succulent crabmeat was a delight to the palate.

Hamachi Sushi

Please bear in mind, do not drench too much in soy sauce when eating the sushi, or else the luscious taste of the Sushi will be overpowered by the sauce.
Gyu Shogayaki Yaki Don
Rice topped with Stir Fried Marinated Beef.
Oyakodon
A classic and popular soul food of Japan, it is a one-bowl meal consisting of a bed of rice topped with steamed chicken and egg then seasoned with soy sauce. Simple yet delicious!

Hobo (Air Flown Fish)
There are a few names, Gurbard, Red gurnard or sea robin. So why has no one ever heard of it?
It is any of the slim bottom-dwelling fish of the family Triglidae, found in warm and temperate seas of the world.
It looks ugly but it is totally delicious. It has a mildly sweet flavor but with a firm and meaty texture when cooked.
Birthday Fruit Platter
Nothing is sweeter than a birthday fruit platter. Surprise your friend or family member with a delicious fresh fruit bouquet from Kimi-ya when diners come to celebrate their birthday on the actual day or birthday eve, with minimum purchase RM100 per single receipt. Also, the portion of fruit platter is according to the number of people.
In a nutshell, KIMI-YA is a hidden gem of Japanese delights in a secluded location. My highlight would be the Ume Sashimi Moriawase, Zaru Inaniwa Udon, Taraba Gani, Oyakodon and the sushi. It's worth to giving Kimi-ya a try when you are looking for a decent Japanese restaurant with an affordable price.
