Songkhla Thai Restaurant @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

July 15, 2016

It's been a while since i had Chinese New Year food review at Bandar Puteri Puchong. It's not too far but also not near from my house. I was invited by my blogger friend to review a Thai Restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong by the name of Songkhla Thai Restaurant, it was easy to find, located just opposite of Four Point by Sheraton Puchong and PFCC. Being a big fans of Thai dishes, of course i said 'YES!' and perhaps i can try something new out there. There are few branches in Klang Valley, Puchong branch is the latest addition to Songkhla family. To ensure its authenticity and deliciousness, Songkhla's chef is from Thailand to present his authentic Thai recipes in Malaysia.

Oh yay! FYI, Songkhla Thai Restaurant provide unlimited serving of Thai fragrant rice and unlimited refills of Chinese tea for FREE! Definitely this is a good news for my daddy because he has at least 2 bowls of rice for his proper meal. NO GST or service charges in this restaurant.
Alright, let's lights up your taste buds with spicy sour Thai foods!
SOUP
Thai Tom Yam Superior Seafood Soup    RM25 (Small)  |  RM35 (Large)

Loaded with succulent prawns, fish, squids, mushroom and herbs. This tom yam clear soup is spicy, sour, savory and addictive with fragrant spices and herbs. This is by far the most authentic quality of tom yam soup i had in KL. If you want richer taste, please check the next dishes.

Famous Thai Tom Yam Seafood Soup    RM25 (Small)  |  RM35 (Large)

Indulge with this bold and rich tom yam seafood soup. I prefer the clear soup because much more sour and spicier!

APPERTISERS
Stir Fried Assorted Vegetable with Belacan   RM12 (Small)  |  RM15 (Large)

Dip the fresh vegetable into Belacan, a simple and delicious side dish to make on a hot day.
Shredded Papaya with Somitam Kerabu   RM14 (Small)  |  RM20 (Large)
Love this with the bold Thai flavours of chilli, dried shrimp and herbs, toss together with tomatoes and crunchy grated green papaya. This can really boost your appetite, I’m can’t help myself from eating.
FISH
Famous Sauce Steamed Fish (seasonal price)

At Thailand, fish which cooking in Thai style is a must-try dish. I'm pretty sure these 2 dishes are rare in Thai restaurant (KL area), but worth to try. The famous sauce steamed fish is spicy and tangy, with the light fragrance of nourishing good quality chinese herbs Angelica Root (当归). FYI, good quality angelica root taste sweet while the bitter one is low quality. It's such a perfect match! A must-try!

Baked Talapia Fish with Salted Taste   RM33(Small)  |  RM38 (Large)

We can see baked salted fish everywhere in Thailand but i never give it a try because usually it is from hawker stall at roadside, now i can enjoy it at Songkhla without worry dusty. A whole Talapia fish baked in a crust of salt to flaky perfection, to produces a really moist, perfectly seasoned fish. Heavenly delicious!!!
CRAB
Stir Fried Crab with Milky Melt Butter Sauce (seasonal price)
Baked crab with salted taste  (seasonal price)
PRAWN
Raw Prawn served with Bitter Gourd and special chilli paste
Raw prawn is fresh enough and so succulent, i thought it will taste bitter because of the bitter gourd but unexpected it works well and taste delicious when toss with the chilli paste. Worth to give it a try!
Stir Fried Prawn with Chiang Mai Traditional Curry  RM26 (Small)  |  RM38 (Large)

Big prawns served in a rich creamy curry both, best accompanied with rice for drowning in the spicy fragrant dip.

Stir Fried Prawn with Dried Shrimp & Curry Leaf  RM26 (Small)  |  RM38 (Large)
Chicken

Deep Fried Chicken with Pandan Leaf RM2.80 / pcs
* minimum order : 4 pcs *

Chicken Feet Kerabu Style    RM13 (Small)  |  RM19 (Large)
Chicken feet don't seem all that appetising for some people but I am quite like its texture when cooked in Kerabu style. Sour, flavourful and appetising!

Stir Fried Asparagus & Shrimp    RM17 (Small)  |  RM24 (Large)
