September 20, 2016

Anaemia is a condition of lack of blood in the body, which is the amount of haemoglobin or number of red blood cells is insufficient to meet the body’s physiological needs. It is often the result of nutritional deficiency, genetics and chronic diseases.
However, there are some lifestyle habits that will help to keep you away from anaemia.
A healthy diet is a prerequisite for anaemia patients, a prevention for normal people. The most important nutrients are iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12. You can enhance your intake of iron in your healthy diet, also increase vitamin C intake as it help your body absorb iron efficiency. Don't forget to take consumption of breads and pasta to improve your intake of folic acid.
Here are some superfoods to combat Anaemia.

- Spinach
- Beetroot
- Red Meat
- Peanut butter
- Tomato
- Eggs
- Soy beans
- Whole grain bread
- Nuts
- Peaches, Prunes and Raisins
- Molasses
- Dates

Special thanks to Merck for sending over this superfood hamper to help me get rid of anaemia. =)
Another way to prevent anaemia is taking iron supplements to fights the symptoms of anaemia such as fatigue, paleness, weakness, lack of concentration and dizziness.
Sangobion is an iron supplement that replenishes iron stores and increases red blood cell levels to optimise oxygen needed in the body. It consists of the full range of vitamins and minerals that is necessary for production of red blood cells, and contains Vitamin C to help in increasing absorption of iron. It also contains Sorbitol which helps to reduce incidence of constipation commonly caused by iron supplementation. For people who afraid of side effect caused by medical treatment, taking iron supplements is good idea for better daily performance without hassle.
Between, it is important to consult with the doctor if you have the symptoms of anaemia.
Always remember "Prevention is better than cure", people who are aware on their proper intake of vitamins and minerals to maintain their diet well seem to catch anaemia hardly.
