[Food] Thirty Seconds Cafe @ Bandar Sri Damansara

July 23, 2015

Let's me tell you a story, once upon a time..... Oops sorry! It's actually happened 15 years ago, the Phua couple has a dream of running their own café, kids are too young, they have other business on hand, time is just not right, a dream remains a dream. However, the dream was never left forgotten. Finally, at the end of year 2014, their dream has come true. Phua couple opened a cafe, and intended to make this a family business. Involving the wife and the sons, from the kitchen to the bar, from the concept to the menu, everything is done by the Phua family. Mr Phua greets the guest, Mrs Phua is the awesome chef and their son is talented barista.
They named this cafe as Thirty Second Cafe and located at Bandar Sri Damansara. Why named it as Thirty Second? It is the perfect time to brew a cup of wonderful and fragrant espresso, 30 sec.

It is hidden in a housing estate, some say the location is bad, some say it is very hidden. Yes honestly it is pretty far for me to travel all the way from Kajang to Bandar Sri Damansara, after this food review, with food that good and café that sincere, I know it is worth the trip. =)
Mr Phua did all the renovation and design by himself. A simple and cozy café that really gives the feeling of home dining.
Let's start from comfort food.
Sodium Oatmeal RM9
RM9 ONLY?! A steaming hot oatmeal porridge served with savoury chicken & mushrooms, surprisingly taste exactly like chicken porridge! I like this to warm up my tummy =)
Baked Eggs RM16
The eggs are cracked into a baking dish of sausage, bell pepper, mushroom & chili flakes ,baked with mozzarella cheese. Served with crisp crust ciabatta bread.
Chicken Pesto Pasta RM15
Spaghetti with chicken, cherry tomatoes, onions and savory pesto sauce. This pasta is a healthy dish and optimized for nutrition and energy.

Creamy Curry Chicken Pasta RM13
A savory creamy curry sauce over Linguine, mixed with chicken chunks, chilis and onions.
 Aroi Seafood Pasta  RM18
A awesome thai-styled Squid Ink Spaghetti with fresh seafoods.
 Fatty Rice RM10
High recommended! RM10 is very reasonable price as Oldtown or Papparich is selling more than RM11. Funny name Fatty Rice is just straight forward translated from Malay - Nasi Lemak, fragrant rice in coconut milk served with a flavourful sambal and Thirty Second's unique fried chicken drumstick which is so tender and juicy. Topped with smooth silkiness egg is the best!
Homemade Mushroom Soup & Garlic Bread RM8
It requires skill and knowledge in handling coffee, their son is the barista of Thirty Second. To show you how serious they are in this business, i would tell you the son is in a world wide latte art competition this year. Barista are being judged on the colour, difficulty, definition and beauty of the latte art. Sounds easy but to compete against other 64 contestants, it is not easy at all.
Recommended coffee : Affogatto   RM10
and also this! the special coffee only available at Thirty Second Cafe.
C O 2    RM 10
Their signature coffee, ain't taste like a coffee but sparking and more to like beers! Taste exactly same with Guinness, don't miss this if you wish to try something different.
This video to show how to make CO2 coffee.
Ice Chocolate   RM 8
Flat White   RM 9
