[Food Review] Porto Bello @ Damansara Uptown

December 9, 2014

Porto Bello cafe located at Damansara Uptown, is a highly recommendation for dining recently thru social media. Thanks to FoodInk's invitation, i am here to tasting their signature dishes for you =)
What does Porto Bello mean? Agaricus bisporus is an edible basidiomycete mushroom native to grasslands in Europe and North America. When mature, the same mushroom is known as Portobello mushroom. No doubt, Porto Bello cafe's signature dish is made by porto bello mushroom. =)

Warm interior design to bring guests comfortable, welcoming and cozy feel. It is quite suitable for gathering or couple dine in. Definitely you will feel so good when you are sitting in a restaurant with nice food and friendly staff service, right? p/s: David the boss is very friendly and nice =)
Let's start with the starter.
Bombas      RM 6.50 for 3pcs
It is made by minced chicken and mash potato served with barbeque sauce and aioli.
Legendary Crab Cake   RM 10.90
Crab meat served with herb aioli and tomato relish, if you dislike seafood, you may feel a bit fishy. It is depends on your favourite, some might thought of fishy some might said it is nice. Quite a unique appetiser to increase my appetite.
Homemade Wild Mushroom Soup RM 8.90
Made by 5 different types of mushroom cook together, served with sliced French baguette. The boss is strongly recommend us to try the garlic bread, it is different with the garlic bread we eat at outside. What's so special? It is not harden toast but it more to like steam+toasted, so it is softer. I ate very rich mushroom soup before, and i felt this mushroom soup is not rich enough but the taste is not bad. (sorry i prefer the creamy stronger taste one > < )
French Escargot RM 13.90 for 6pcs
Escargot baked with creamy garlic cheese based.
Seared Salmon RM 29.90
Fresh Salmon seared on the grill , it is tender and tantalising. Served it with beetroot puree, mash potato and beurre blanc. If you love to eat salmon steak, you must know tender seared salmon is the best, meat will become roughness and harden if it is well-cook.
Porto Bello Chicken Pie RM 22.00
An eye-catching dishes, modify from sandwich or burger style, bread changed to succulent porto bello and with thicken filling of Oriental style marinated chicken. Taste ain't weird as you think, but i can said you must try it, delicious =)
Smoked Barbeque Chicken RM29.90 (half) RM54.90 (whole)
Smoked chicken prepared with sweet-savoury barbecue sauce and fries. Half chicken can served for 2-3 pax and whole chicken is suitable for 5-6 pax. (unless you are not order another dishes)
Braised Beef Bourguignon RM 29.90
Braised Beef with red wine sauce, served with bread. I like this, beef is tender and juicy!
Spaghetti Creamy Miso RM 13.50
Absolutely this is a fusion style of Japanese-Italian. Topped with attractive sunny side up and bonito flakes, spaghetti coated in creamy miso and milky sauce. For those who not really like to eat steak like me, you can goes to this pasta.
Dessert time!!!
Porto Bello’s Legendary Lava Cake RM13.90
Warm molten lava cake served with vanilla ice cream, it is quite sweet for me but other bloggers though it is just nice =)
Porto Bello Panna Cotta RM10.90
Italian dessert made by blending thick cream, egg white and strawberry. This lovely eggless custard-like pudding has a rich flavor and silky smooth texture. I love this more than Lava cake, strongly suggested must eat this when it is cold enough.
Porto Bello cafe is serving delicious foods with reasonable price, food quality is good, peoples there are nice. May be it can be your next choice? =P
